Seizure Semiology — Interactive Study Reference

Explore seizure signs and the studies behind them.

How to use this page

Find a sign or paper

Choose Signs or Sources, then use the search above the results. Filter evidence narrows both views by semiology, phase, laterality or evidence class. Organize signs by shows Region, ILAE or Lüders banners, with signs and their papers underneath. Within Region browsing, choose A–Z signs or ILAE/Lüders subcategories. Select anatomy above the brain to narrow the results. Clear filters starts over.

Explore the brain

Select colored brain regions, or turn on Show Brodmann labels to select numbered areas. Drag to turn the brain and pinch or scroll to zoom. The view buttons and LH / RH / Both change what you see; use the Laterality filter to select the side reported in a study.

Select and clear areas

Tap an area on the map, or use Select anatomy above it to find lobes, named anatomy and atlas areas. Any selected area includes evidence linked to at least one choice; All selected areas requires every choice. Both use the same recorded anatomy links. Selections stay active when you show or hide Brodmann labels. Clear selection removes anatomy selections; Reset view resets the view.

Read the results

Signs groups findings by clinical dictionary term and includes the reported statistics and paper weights. Sources collects the results from each paper. Use Group signs to change the grouping, and Sort signs for A–Z, publication count or evidence-class order. Anatomical overlap identifies correspondence with a selected map area; the study’s reported localization and statistics retain their original anatomical scope.

Open a paper’s findings

Open a sign, then a paper, to read its reported findings and anatomy, measurements, weights and supporting passages. The filters above the results also apply to opened signs and papers. Publication links open the article.

Understand counts and weights

Show counts adds the number of matching results to Brodmann labels. Paper weights retain the recorded appraisal and its calculation. Weights & statistics explained describes these measures and their limitations.
